Btec extended diploma initial assessment
For
me to progress this year, I will write a list of things that I need to
complete, one of them is planning my pre-production work so that I can move
onto developing a script.
In my
initial planning, the main issue is the creative problems, I can’t think of
ideas, mainly for my script, but I know that I would like to film in different
locations from the first year. I am going to overcome this, by jotting down ideas
on a spider diagram and pitching together ideas that I think will work well in
my final piece.
The
resources I will need is; premier pro, 2 or 3 cameras, a memory pen, a tripod,
a mic, a location where I can set up multiple cameras and a couple of other
things. As the college already provides us with the equipment and resources, I will
focus on the things that aren’t available to me, such as buying myself a memory
pen.
From
last year, I learned quite a lot from my pre-production work, for instance I learned
the differences between pre-production and film production. Pre-production is
the buildup work of ideas and storyboarding, whereas film production is all the
different camera shots you used and how you filmed them.
What
I enjoyed the most about first year, was learning how to use premier pro to piece
my short film together and actually going out to shoot the footage. The areas
that I know I need to improve on, is mainly the pre-production work. For my pre-production
work, I am going to plan everything out in my notebook before I type it up and
upload it to blogger, so that I can analyze my work so that it meets the
requirements of each assignment that has been handed to me and I will try to
complete it before the deadlines and not after.
One
of the main skills that I wanted to acquire in first year, was editing and
towards the end of the year I gained a lot of knowledge as a media student and
not a stranger learning the basic stuff. I want to progress my work further
after college at university, as I want to become a professional at media and film
and hopefully set up my own business in filming and acting.
